Gregory Wayne Lynn operates Cull the World. We are the controller of the personal data described here, which means we decide how and why it is used.
What we collect and why
- Account details (email, sign-in credentials, display name, profile photo). We use these to create and secure your account. Legal basis: contract.
- Fishing and event data (catches, weights, lengths, gear, bags, tournament and league entries, results). We use these to provide culling, tournaments, standings and records. Legal basis: contract.
- Messages, Ask questions and suggestions. We use these to deliver messages, answer questions and support you. Legal basis: contract and legitimate interests.
- Device and usage data (IP address, browser and device details, notification tokens, logs). We use these for security, fraud prevention, alerts and improving the app. Legal basis: legitimate interests, or consent for phone notifications.
- Location. Your location is shown only on your device while the Map is open and you have given permission. It is never stored or shared. Legal basis: consent.
Who we share it with
- Service providers that host and run the app (hosting, database, storage, AI help, notifications)
- Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record, for sales, subscription management, payments, tax compliance and invoicing
- Professional advisers, such as legal and accounting
- Authorities, where the law requires it
- Other anglers, but only what features show them: your name and photo, public tournament results, and messages you send
We do not sell your personal data.
Minors
Anglers under 18 may use the app with a parent or guardian's permission. A parent or guardian can ask us to review or delete a minor's data.
Retention
We keep data while your account is active and as long as needed for the purposes above. Certified tournament results may be kept as event records. When we no longer need data, we delete or anonymize it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access, correct or delete your data
- object to or restrict how we use it
- get a copy of it
- withdraw consent
To make a request, contact us through Messages in the app. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organizational measures, including encrypted connections, access controls, and database rules that limit who can see each record.
Cookies and storage
Essential browser storage keeps you signed in and remembers settings such as your home screen and saved catches. Advertising measurement is separate and never required to use the app.
Facebook and Instagram advertising measurement
When permitted by your advertising choice and a 13-or-older confirmation, Meta receives public page visits and completed email account registrations, page address, IP address, browser/device information and advertising cookie identifiers. These are used to measure ads and optimize them toward account registrations. Our tracking does not send email addresses, profile details, fishing records, precise location, messages or payment details. Google sign-ins are not currently counted as new registrations.
We request advertising consent in places where required and when your region cannot be determined. Unknown age, under-13 visitors, rejection and supported browser privacy opt-outs keep advertising measurement off. This does not prevent anyone from using the app. We do not load advertising tracking on private app screens.
Open Cookie settings in the public links or Profile to withdraw or change your choice. Changes stop new reports immediately, including in other open tabs. Previous choice evidence is retained on your device with a visitor identifier, notice version, region and decision time; this is separate from your account and does not erase data already received by Meta. Meta’s own privacy policies govern its handling of data it receives.
